The vice–president of Ukraine: Ivan Wasyniuk, on Friday in Warsaw declared that he is convinced that European Football Championships in 2012 will be played in four Polish and four Ukrainian cities.

‘The statement of UEFA and Michel Platini is very clear - they treat Euro 2012 project as “four plus four”. The only possible exception is the situation when the governments of both countries, in the face of the crisis, will apply to change the project as “three plus three’ But Ukraine and Poland are not planning to submit such applications – said Wasyniuk on the press conference.

His words were confirmed by the Minister of Sport and Tourism – Mirosław Drzewiecki. ‘If we regularly come out of the red to orange color’ there’s no reason to talk about the asymmetry in sharing between the Ukrainian and Polish cities the right to organize the championships. Such situation may appear only in the face of some kind of cataclysm, for which we also have to be prepared. Both Drzewiecki and Wasyniuk emphasized that there was nothing mentioned about organization of championships being taken over by any other country.

‘From time to time the media speculate about a third party. Someone looks for a partner either for Poland or Ukraine. I think this is more like a game, otherwise it wouldn’t be so interesting. – said the vice-president of Ukraine and added ‘ we also achieve successes in building our facilities for Euro Championships and I guarantee that we remain a trustworthy partner for Poland. During the visit the topic of the new frontier crossings was discussed. ‘There will be both mobile and passenger.’ We established the possible location and the person responsible. We brought up the issue of abolishing the visas during the championships and we talked abort the concept of a common ticket which could be valid in both countries- added Drzewiecki

Wasyniuk tried to calm down Poles that everything proceeds according to the schedule and that Ukraine certainly won’t be facing the lack of funds.

‘Until 2012 six stadiums will be built. .In Dniepropietrowsk we already have an object ready to use. In Donieck and Charkow the construction works will have been finished this year. In Kijow, similarly as in Warsaw construction works are carried without interruptions. According to the plan of budget means 100 millions of dollars will be devoted on this project. The stadium in Lwow is also under construction and until the end of April the groundwork is expected to be finished In Odessa everything goes as planned

As he emphasized, we treat as safe positions those ‘budget entries ‘that are concerning Europe. We control the situation but we are aware of the fact that we reached the economic bottom and now we can only expect the situation to get better in the second part of the year .

The vice–president of Ukraine remarked that Euro 2012 is a large scale project whose major aim is to confirm the strategic partnership of both countries, built on equality and openness.
The Ukrainian government delegacy stays in the capital in relation to the routine visit connected with the arrangements for the World Football Championships Euro 2012

According to the STB all has been exaggerated, the decision of the European football authorities have already taken.
